buttermilk quickbread

This is a cake-like bread that tastes like a desert. We made this on 2018-11-30 when Edie was visiting.

Ingredients
  

wet ingredients

  • 1 c buttermilk
  • 1/4 c oil
  • 1 egg

dry ingredients

  • 2 c flour
  • 1/4 c sugar
  • 1 1/2 t baking powder
  • 1/2 t baking soda
  • 1 t sal

Instructions
 

  • Whisk the wet ingredients. Gently fold in the dry ingredients. Pour into a greased 9x5" loaf pan, or a larger brownie pan to make a cornbread-like loaf with more crust. Bake at 350°F for 45 to 50 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean. Rest 15 minutes before cutting if you can.
  • To make this a dill bread, add up to a quarter cup of freshly chopped dill when you fold in the dry ingredients.
